Why is it good to be an Agricultural Economist?

What is a good economic news source which is more specific than CNN or the BBC, understandable by a non-economist?

  • Online or offline. I like The Economist, but I'd like to know if there's more.

    Well, I'm a long-time Economist reader and still can't find better, but I think thes two sources can be followed as well: http://www.businessinsider.com/, they have gain traction and are a good source especially for tech economics. Giants of tech news like Techcrunch or Mashable in my opinion are getting exhausted because of their "quick news" approach (no real analysis, I think it's a bit "flat"). http://qz.com/, they have been really good over the last year, with a clean online format, Economist-style approach though more economic than politic, and the staff behind is quite solid And, honestly, I would suggest to forget the rest which are too inconsistent on economic news, they might have a paper or two at some point, but it doesn't keep you fed everyday.

I would suggest following economics newspapers. For example, in India, the two most prominent are The Economic Times and Business Line. Read these types of newspapers, and whenever there is a term that you do not understand look it up on the internet.
