The Sistene has a schedule that changes a bit but during the spring and summer it is open alot. A tour guide would be good if you arent familiar with Italian history. He or she could also answer any questions you have concerning different things in the Vatican. (I had lots of questions) You have to make reservations way in advance, but you can go under the vatican and see the ancient Roman artifacts and buildings the vatican is built on. You can also see where they found St. Peters bones. Its really cool if you like history and architecture.
