Hi i am goign on a trip to Capri, i arrinve at Fiumicino airport in ROME tomorrow, and going to CAPRI island straight away, by train/ferry. What is the best way to do this, Rome to ...show more

Be careful in Naples with your baggage, take the train from Fiumicino and better try to go directly to Sorrento, look for a Hotel there and from there you can go in bus ( 5 euros) all day to Amalfi, Positano, Ravello. and from sorrento too take the ferry to Capri cost around 10 euros each trip.

I agree: 1 take the LEONARDO EXPRESS train from Airport (ticket booth at the staion) to Roma Stazione Termini, 2 then take any train to Napoli (buy ticketless for instance from www.trenitalia.it) prefer Eurostar or ALTA VELOCITA', faster but more expensive, look out for the TARIFFA AMICA option ("friendly fare" cheaper but not refundable) 3. and a taxi (official ones are white!!!) to Molo Beverello, if don't carry big luggage a stroll could do. Pay attention to scammers, pick pocketers, unofficial taxi, 3 cards or bells tables etc. in Naples. Don't wear golden stuff. 4 At Molo Beverello buy the ticket for the ship --> TRAGHETTO (ferry) or ALISCAFO (gliding speedboat if sea is calm and usually is). Buon viaggio! PS Naples is the birthplace of pizza: if stuck there look out for a genuine pizzeria in the old town.
