The trip for just the flight will probably cost anywhere from $600 to $2000, just depending on when you book the flight. Sometimes if you book a flight a full year or more in advance, you'll pay only a few hundred dollars; if you wait until the week before, there's no way you'll get it for under three or four thousand dollars. Keep in mind that there won't be many or any flights from Louisiana to Rome, so you'll probably have to stop in Atlanta, DC, New York, or elsewhere, and then you could also end up with transfers in Europe (flying through Frankfurt or Paris on the way). These extensions are sometimes the fastest ways there, but they also add to the cost of the ticket.
