Any ideas for cheaper means of hotel/hotel-type places for two weeks in Rome, Italy?

  I would recommend a hostel ALL the way! A lot of people are weary of them because they feel that they are unsanitary or unsafe or something, but i can guarantee you that these are people who have never actually stayed in one. You can stay in a private room with your mom which will be a tiny bit more expensive, or you can go in the community room and join the other travelers. Most hostels have full kitchens so that you can save money on food by cooking your own meals in the kitchen and storing the left overs in the fridge. They often plan activities for the guests such as movie night, private tours of the city, and game tournaments. Be sure to look into this further, it will save you a ton of money!!
