im getting married in a little over a year and im not sure what the general thing is when it comes to your bridesmaids and the dresses etc what do i pay for and whatdo they pay for, ...show more

Answer:
Your bridesmaids will pay for their own attire, in general. If you have money to spare, however, don't be afraid to go against tradition. Its a pain in the butt to pay for a dress that you're only going to wear once, and no bridesmaid relishes the opportunity to shell out hundreds of dollars for that. Congratulations!

The bridesmaids pay for their own dresses. For sure. Sometimes the bride can give the bridesmaids something (like tanning or getting their nails done) but this is certainly not required.

Traditionally the bridal party pays for their own outfits, the groomsmen and the bridesmaids. This includes shoes. They do not pay for their own flowers/bouquets, and you are supposed to get them a gift.

they should pay for their own dresses and shoes... I mean, they're the ones who are going to end up keeping them in the end. Letting them be part of your wedding should be good enough. They should pay to have their hair and nails done too. I don't think they'd be offended. Weddings are expensive enough to the bride and groom as is.

Normally the bridesmaids pay for their own dresses. Now think about that when you pick out something silly. They have to pay for something that they may hate if you don't include them in your selection. They are among your best friends. Do something nice for them.

Usually when you ask someone to be your bridesmaid she will pay for everying. You just tell her what dress it is and she gets fitted. She pays for the dress the shoes the hair the nails. You don't have to pay for anything that goes on your bridesmaids. Good luck and congratulations!!!

my g/f has always had to buy hers, as well as the girls in all of my friends weddings.

I've been a bridesmaid 3x I paid for all 3 ugly dresses, but usually the bride will buy some sort of accesory to wear as a gift. Matching earrings and/or necklace. One bought all the bridesmaids shoes.

My bridesmaids paid for their own dress. I picked out something affordable for them and they didnt have a problem with it. Everyones opinion is different on who pays for what. In my case, my parents paid for the wedding and reception and my husbands parents paid for the reheasal dinner and the bar bill at the reception. Congrats! Have fun and happy planning. The day goes by so fast...enjoy and savor every minute.
