Does anyone else miss the Yahoo message boards?

    Another way of taking freedom of speech away-because of the people that reported abusers of something they didn't like they cut people off now they should have never done this reporting abuse and not checking it and they did have a profanity filter so nothing should have been reported so they took away freedom of communication off now were stuck with this

I'm going through acute withdrawal from the Yahoo message boards. It was so fun to look at a news article, hit discuss, and leave a quick comment and get back to work. They had a really good thing going. I think they caved to some jerkwad lawyer that got some lawsuit going. I hope Yahoo shows some cajones in this and gets a precedent-setting court decision that will allow them to bring back the message boards with no possibility of some jerkwad bottom feeding scumbag with a law degree suing them. (Like a shark that smells blood these elevator-farts smell deep pockets and go in for the quick kill. If their prey shows any cajones, they usually run away like the dogs they are with their tails in between their legs).

Where have all the old posters gone? The old format was the best, because we were free to comment (within an agreed-to framework) on any thread, as many times as needed. New format doesn't allow the same ease of navigation. Has anyone found a good replacement?

I don't miss them a bit. Honestly, the poor spelling and grammar should be embarrassing to everyone who has an education past grade school. Of course, we can find plenty of that stuff here on Answers as well..... The ignore feature blocked out only 100 IDs - if you want to block more than that (such as the creations of a certain name troll), you're SOL. I found that out the hard way after making a few anti-Twitney comments - I had a Twitney fan/stalker who never forgave me for it.

no i had to ignore them because they got so insane. they were not moderated. there are other message boards out there that are much better
