You can tow anything you want with it. Will probably develop transmission problems if it is not built for towing. The tongue weight can be compensated for with a good receiver hitch and heavy duty shocks. I'm sure you could put air shocks on it, I did that with mid sized car once but had to rebuild the transmission after a few months of towing with it. The boat you described is not that heavy. You should have enough power to pull it, just be prepared for tranny problems if you do a lot of towing. If you're just making short trips you should be fine. The tranny won't have time to heat up that much. Take off slowly don't force it, let it shift when it's ready. Don't use overdrive when towing. Be sure and give yourself extra time when braking. If it's stick shift then you may have clutch problems unless you use a heavy duty clutch and pressure plate. Just make nice smooth shifts. If you want a boat then get it and do what you have to. Maybe get a cheap old truck to pull it with and save your car.

yes you can tow but check maximum towing weights for braked and unbraked trailer /load in your vehicles handbook to comply with legal regulations and insurances. do check your insurance covers such a trailer as some can have restrictions. you may? need to get an oil cooling kit fitted to engine but a dealer can best advise or handbook may state so. ( often essential in hot climates and soem working conditions)

I saw one of those and it had a flat tyre, so I would never use a car like that to tow. Did you try getting the recommended towing capacity of the vehicle and comparing that with the gross weight of the boat and trailer ?

Oh my god where do they get these answers from?? put the boat at the back of the saab and tow it to wherever you want to mate,it wont know its there, forget the extended mirrors and all the rubbish given, you wont need them, boat and engine together is less than what car is capable of iv been towing boats for past 10 years,i tow a 2tonne one now but my mate brings his 14ft with 40hp at the back of a peugot 306 and he sits at 50-60mph all the way and its fine, buy the boat and join the rest of us boat owners that just throw money down the drain keeping them running! happy fishing.

you should be fine,as long as you use your gears properly, giving smooth gear change and don't ride the clutch, you might need to have extensions on your side mirrors. But make sure to brake early and use your gears when slowing down, this will save your brake linings from excess wear, but above all, this will also stop you skewing all over the road, and make more allowance for going down hill, keeping further back from the car in front good luck
