  Its a small farming village. If you live here as a civilan or stationed as a Soldier. Be prepare to be bored out of your mind. There is nothing there. I have lived in this area for over a year and I am moving away. The job market there is really bad. Mosly offered are Flex jobs. No that good at all. I am a person that I enjoy doing things on my on. Just be prepared to not having nothing at your finger tips to help you get settled. The US Army helps with the Soldiers process, but there is nothing here to help you if you are not part of Uncle Sam. Germany is still stuck back in times about 30 years. I guess thats why there is such an alcohol problem in some regions like Baumholder for the very lack of anything to do. I think you would be better off going to Alaska, at least there you could get the most out of the dollar. Right now the dollar is up, but still be prepared once you step off the base, you are going to spend more money. Good luck.
