I would say yes, because both Australia and Germany are first world countries with adequate banking services to meet your needs and both will have atms. On your debit card, you should see a few different logos of the financial networks that your card belongs to. A few of those are European, a few are North American and one is probably Australian but you can Google them if you like to see which one is which. Interac is for North America.
