What is a good idea for a TV series?

Two-part Question: (1) What is the title of the person you pitch a TV series to at Network or Cable? (2) How do gain access to that person so you can pitch your idea?

  • I've written a great TV series--Treatment, Pilot, and 10 Summary Episodes. I have a famous TV and film actor who wants to star in it, but I'm having trouble getting an agent and/or figuring out how to get access to the right person in Network and Cable to pitch the proposal to.

  • Answer:

The thing is, the Bigger networks won't even meet you unless they know you. If you want to get through to them, you have to get yourself an agent. Like most actors, even directors can have agents. These agents normally have a good number of contacts with the network. Also they will help you choose the best network fitting your needs, and the network that will pay you the most. They will normally pitch the idea to a number of networks and find you the best one. So, get an agent.
