Answer:
If you like history it is bursting at the seams with it. Interesting and unusual things like the Stasi Museum and the Berlin Wall Museum. I'm visiting myself in September and wondering how to pack it all in.

Four days is an excellent short break to get an introduction to Berlin. It's a wonderful city. When you arrive look for the BVG desk. There is one at both of the main airports (Tegel and Schoenefelde). This is the company that runs the city's public transport. Buy a Berlin Welcome Card. The Welcome Card is the Berlin equivalent of a city-wide Travel card and it allows travel on the busses, trams, underground (U Bahn) and surface (S Bahn) railways. The Welcome Card also comes with a book of money-off vouchers for all sorts of attractions: clubs, restaurants, museums, concerts, shows, etc. etc. If you just work your way though this book you'll have a mini tour guide and save money all in one go. For a short visit these are "must see": Go up the Fernsehturm. This is the television tower. It's got a revolving restaurant at the top and stunning views over the city. It's only worth going up if there is no mist because you have to pay and you don't want to waste your money. Avoid lunchtime (crowds). You can't miss this - it's visible from almost everywhere. Go to S Bahn Alexanderplatz. Take a river trip. These come in varying durations from 30mins to 2 hours. Pick up near the Lustgarten. Wander around the Nikolai Quarter. This is the old mediaeval city centre. Look for the Georgbrau pub for great beer brewed on the premises and lunch by the river. Visit the Soviet War Memorial at Treptower Park. There is an S Bahn station called Treptower Park and the memorial is about 5 minutes walk through the "woods" in the park itself. This is not like any war memorial you have ever seen. It truly emphasises how the Soviet Union put its stamp on East Germany (yes, you are in East Berlin) If you like "big shows" go to the Friedrichstadtpalast. This is a large "London Palladium" type theatre near to Friderichstrasse S Bahn station. Great place. If you like Thai food then have a meal at Mao Thai in Fasanenplatz. This is an amazing restaurant. It's near Spichernstrasse U Bahn. Also try Thai Inside, another great place close to Alexanderplatz S Bahn station. Wander down the road Unter Den Linden. It's the road that starts at the Brandenberg Gate. Look at the shops and try to imagine what it was like in the days when it was "behind the wall". If you dive off down a side street or two, especially as you go further east, you can get an idea what it was like. Visit the Reichstag. There is some security to get through but it's free and worth an hour's queue. Visit the Natural History Museum. This has a genuine and Huge brachiosaurus skeleton and other great exhibits. Nearest U Bahn is Zinnowitzerstrasse. Take your girlfirend to the Egyptian Museum and see the bust of Queen Nefertitti. This is very famous, is unique and very different from dry old mummy cases. I always stay at the Hotel Tiergarten. This is in Alt Moabit (a road) and there is a bus stop almost outside where the TXL from Tegel airort stops. This location is only a few minutes from Underground (Turmstrasse) and S Bahn (Bellevue) stations and you can anywhere very quickly. I suggest that you use the Zoo as a centre of operations because the bus station is there and it is a confluence of railway lines. It's 20 minutes from my hotel on a gentle walk though the park, or 5 mins by U Bahn. Take a good guide book. I recommend the AA Guide. It's clearer than most. English is spoken almost everywhere. Remember to take your EHIC cards or you may have trouble if one of you becomes ill or is hurt. Get an application form from a post office. This card gives you free emergency medical treatment. You will have to pay of you haven't got one.

If I were you, I would hunt down Bill Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel and ask him to show me around.
