Original pieces of the Wall would have all gone about 10 years ago. What you may buy these days is almost certainly fake. There are loads of items with the Berlin Bear on them. Some are steins and some are glass jugs (Krugs) as well as many other items from ashtrays to clothing. Take you pick, they're all genuine and usually good value (be careful of market stuff that seems too cheap). The Brandenburg Gate is also the subject of loads of product decorations. It's unique to Berlin so will make a good souvenir. Walk along the road due east from the Zoo bus station for about 1km and look in the shops. Some of them are very good value for souvenirs. Take loads of photos of the pair of you in unique Berlin locations. Look for: the Soviet War Memorial in Treptower Park; the Funkturm (radio mast, it has a restaurant/coffee bar, observation platform and good views of the city); the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag building; Checkpoint Charlie; the Southside Gallery (1km of original Wall still standing; the Flakturm (World War 2 anti-aircraft tower, near Gezundbrunnen S-Bahn station). When you arrive buy a Berlin Welcome Card. This is a travelcard that permits use of U Bahn, S Bahn, buses and trams. It comes with a book of discount vouchers for restaurants, theatres, shops, clubs, museums and other attractions. Use this as a sort of guide so you won't miss anything interesting. The Berliners' version of German is slightly different from most of the country. English is spoken in most places, sometimes they speak American but it's close enough to be understandable.

There is so many souvenir stores. Most selling the Berliner Bear, the stones from the wall, and the ex DDR stamps and some more stuff. Enjoy your trip and have fun in Berlin, it's great place.

You can get a little piece of the berlin wall!!!! Its a beautiful little souvenir and when I was there I got one for each of my family members and they loved it!!! its not expensive either, you should find it in any souvenir kiosk. I lived in Germany and having a piece of the fallen berlin Wall is amazing!!!! You can also get a little shot glass which says Berlin and some post cards. Just visit a souvenir kiosk and basicly everything they have is worth getting!!! And no, the Berlin wall pieces they sell are REAL, but they are small, like 2 inches. I dont know why the person above me said they are fake.
