dirt bikes are actually better built bike. enduro bikes suspension is lowered and stiffened for the road.. for trails you should go for the dirt bike then the enduro unless you plan on riding on the road when you get older. and to change an enduro to a dirt i wouldn't do it.. just get some dot approved knobbys and but a light kit for your bike.. then you have a better built enduro

Really the bikes for someone your age break down into two categories. Play bikes (trail bikes) and race bikes. Take Honda for instance. You have a CRF150R that is a race bike and a CRF150F that is a play or trail bike. Your competition bikes will be water cooled and your play/trail bikes will be air cooled, but the differences don't stop there. It is a good way to tell them apart though. Basically a competition bike will be much faster, much lighter, and have much better suspension. It will also cost much more than the trail bikes. It is not possible, within a reasonable budget, to make a play/trail bike work nearly as well as a true competition bike. You really just need to look at what type of riding you plan to do. If you are just cruising the trails and not doing any big jumps a trail bike is fine. If you plan to race MX or woods you need a real race bike.

The biggest difference in an enduro and a dirt bike is signal lights and any thing to make it street legal. the advantage to owning an enduro, is when you get old enough to drive, you can get an endorsement on your drivers liscense and ride your enduro on the street. Plus the enduro looks better. I would go enduro.

if you plan on ridding it on the street legally, then get an enduro. also most enduros usually have larger engines to get you up to speed on the highway. they may even weigh a little more. just depends on how you intend to use it. i have a Suzuki dr650 and love it. it will do 105 mph top speed and it does pretty good in the dirt for my purpose. but if you want a more dirt oriented bike then you can always buy a dirt bike and get an aftermarket kit from ufo to make it street legal. you should take a look at the suzuki drz400 there is even a sm version. quick and good off road, lots of upgrades. good luck. and ride safe.

Enduro bikes are normally built using the same frame and engine to the same specifications as motorcross bikes but with the equipment to legally travel on the road, in competition the courses can include up to 30% of its length on public roads, to cope with this they are frequently supplied with a less knobbly tyre and stiffened suspension. The extra weight and broader requirements of an enduro bike mean they won't compete directly with the single purpose motorcross bikes but they do have benefits if you need to use public roads (in the future) to get to trails. Since public roads aren't going to involve you for a few years a motorcross bike will suit you better.

enduro is just a nice name for a fun bike and it all its a dirt bike and if you mean dirt bike as in motocross bike you have no chance! im 13 year old girl and 4'9 and ride a RM85L. and that thing is crazy. if i were you i would go with the drz-125 people use them as a motocross bike, as they have the build and suspension although they are only used in clubs not in real motocross races and but they can also be used as a fun bike. belive me if you wont be racing dont get a motocross bike. if you wrote this question you clearly dont have the skills and honestly you have no idea about what you are talking about. i mean enduro bikes are fukn off road dirt bikes!! also fun bikes or '(enduro)' are easier to care for and you probably dont no much about them so you will have a lot of trouble caring for a watercooled motocross bike. and the price difference here- me riding my suzuki jr80 fun bike,-$2500 me racing my suzuki RM85L-$7990 most enduro's are four stroke and need barley any maintence. otherwise some other bikes are crf150-crf100-ttr125-ttr230- that may fit you they are enduro bikes these are some motocross bikes that will suit you-kx65-kx85-ktm85sx-ktm65sx-rm85l- BUDDY I CANT BELIVE YOUR QUESTION!!--also is it possible to make an enduro bike work as good off road as a dirt bike THAT IS THE DUMBEST THING EVER!!! AN ENDURO IS A DIRT BIKE ARE YOU R-E-T-A-R-T-E-D???!!!
