Do you think graffiti is art or vandalism?

Graffiti is vandalism, the wanton distruction or spoiling of another's property and it is performed by animalistic "people" who are emulating animals and leaving their virtual urine scent where others will read (smell) it. Even those who deface public and private property know that it is vandalism else why don't they do it in public view instead of coming like the sneaky scum they are in the night. I believe all graffiti "artists" should be executed at the sight of their graffiti and their bodies left there to rot or be written upon by other graffiti "artists."

I think it is very artistic and quit interesting to view. But it is art that is placed in a bad/illegal spot most times!

Graffiti can be done bad,like when it is just scrawled on a wall and looks like a mess but i have done graffiti for a long time and get paid for it sometimes.My friends also sell alot of their work to people on canvas etc.We also do alot of commission work for shopfronts etc.I done a piece for a night club a couple of weeks ago and got paid 100 pound for it which istn't bad for 7 hours work.I can call my work art because it is and people pay for it but when it is done bad like i say it can't really be called art,plus it gives the rest of us a bad name.I also done a project once with Croydon council in England to teach the kids how to do it properly so they wouldn't go out and start scrawling a mess on the walls but think about the bigger picture.

it is vandalism and trespassing. It destroys the value of someone elses property. The property owner has to use their own money to remove the graffitti. Yes, some graffitti "artists" are talented. However, they should seek permission from property owners. In my area all of the graffitti is gang related.

I personally think it is art and I think every town should have a dedicated area where all budding Graffiti Artist's could show of there Art.
