K, there basically a Flash Drive for your DS. You can get them here. http://www.modsupplier.com/catalog/r4-ds-r4ds-p-208.html They have a pretty sweet deal if your looking for multiples.... .rar is a file extension and is most likely referring to a game in a compressed .rar format. I don't think that one comes with the Micro SD chips, but you could by a PNY (generic Micro SD) at a 4GB for $18 at your local Wal*Mart

it's real simple, you download the roms from the net, and stick them on the micro SD card and put that card in your R4, and the R4 card in your ds. it's like an mp3 player, but with games instead of music files. except there's the system files, the card runs of files in itself, you'll get the files with the card, or you could download them from the R4 website. so; what else do you need to buy? well most R4s come with USB-Micro SD adapters or SD-Micro SD adapters, otherwise you'll need to make sure you can connect the micro sd to your computer. also you'll need a micro sd card to store the data, most R4s come with them (they'd surely mention if they do), but you could get them separately.
