What exactly is pop art?

What's your favorite pop Art Painting, and Artist?

    I really was not a big fan of pop art, but I suppose I would have to say that Andy Warhol would be my favorote. He was really not a role model because of some of the beliefs that he had. Some of his subject matter was really questionable to in my opinion. HOWEVER....when someone can take something as simple as CAMPBELL SOUP CANS and become famous....I suppose he does deserve some credit. In my opinion, Warhol was the one who started the pop art movement. One did not really have to be very creative to be involved in the pop art movement....Just LUCKY I suppose.....at any rate....He became famous, I never did.....LOL....God bless you and yours...Nomadic

i agree strongly with nomadic. there is no one better than andy warhol and his ecclectic love for the arts. if he could turn soup cans into art imigine what he could have done with someones trash.

warhol and lichtenstein are great pop art may look simple but hey, they made common things work of art.

I LOVE Peter Max! His art is so full of life and optimism. The colors are bright and fun. It makes everyone else of that time pale in comparison!

Andy Warhol is classic pop art. I can't say i know much about other pop artists. There another famous artist... Roy Lichtenstein. A German artist who imitates comic art with dots of color. I be you'd recognize either of these artists' more known works.
