Getting married to a French citizen no longer gives you French citizenship as well. It does, however, give you the right to a carte de sejour "vie privée et familiale". This carte de sejour allows you to live and work in France. You still have to wait several years though to become a French citizen. You should be able to do so on au pair status--but I would check with the Prefecture. My carte de sejour was travailleur temporaire when I got married and it got changed to family and private life w/o a problem.
