Can't be done. European union rules forbid any Non-Europeans from getting a work visa there. Unemployment is far higher in Europe. including France , than in the U.S. Only way you could get a work visa there is to have very high level of education and a skill in a rare job that no European can provide. There are millions and millions of unemployed Europeans. There is no way you could get a residence visa there if you cannot get a work visa. last thing they need is Americans taking what few jobs there are. You can contact the French Embassy and tell them you want to know what visa to apply for to live in France....they can give you the straight scoop. A 20 yr old without even a 4 year degree has no chance. Immigration to any other country is far more difficult than most folks have any idea of. Get an education, make a success of yourself in your own country, and be able to travel and visit France when you like.

You cannot just up and move to France, pet. It doesn't work that way. You would need an employment visa in order to be able to live there, which you MUST apply for in the US. Employment visas are as rare as hen's teeth in the current economic climate, and non-EU nationals like yourself cannot get them themselves, the employer must do it, and the only way they can get one for you is if there is no local or EU national available to do the job in question - and they have to prove it. The only way you can get an employment visa is if you have particular skills and qualifications that are NOT available anywhere in the EU and that are in demand. And at 20, I seriously doubt you have this. Another way you could go about it is to research if you have a parent or grandparent who was born in what is now an EU member state, and you have documentation to prove this, and was still alive when you were born - then you MIGHT be able to acquire citizenship of another EU country, and then move to France, as nationals of EU member states are entitled to live and work in other EU member states. Contact the Embassy of that country in the US if you have such a relative. Otherwise I'm afraid you're out of luck. Go back to college and get some kind of qualification (an Associate Degree is useless over here) and in a few years things might have improved and you might stand a better chance then.

I plan on moving to my home country, Germany. Well, not my home country, my mothers. And, i cannot get a citizenship, because under German law, only if my father was a citizen i could get mine. So, i am going into the U.S military for 6 years, in the Air Force. And, after that, i already know i will get paid monthly from Air Force after i leave. Then i will move to Germany. Good luck.
