Peronne, France has a nice WW1-themed museum. Lots of allied grave sites around the area too. If you like rockets, there are V1 and V2 sites in the area -- Eperlecques (http://www.leblockhaus.com/modulosite2/welcome-gb.htm) and Wizernes (http://www.lacoupole-france.com/). All of these places are reasonably close to the Channel crossing points.

It is indeed Dunkirk in English. There wasn't any great landing of note, though a massive departure in 1940. The Brits would have stayed a little longer had they got much help from the French - other than how to spell place names of course. No museums spring to mind - the best ones are in Normandy, and one in Brittany. And Verdun. But they are all to the west of you. I think that the most poignant visit would be to any of the hundreds of CWGC British and Allied graveyards. Some are immense and have displays to commemorate the individual battle that was the main reason they are there. Vimy Ridge springs to mind, but you will need to pick one that fits in with your itinerary. If you really want to see a good museum then Imperial War is second to none.
