Where should I go in Normandy, France for a good beach holiday with my partner and daughter aged 4 in July?

    I just answered another question about France and saw yours, so consider this, The west coast of France has a wealth of historical importance, from the Roman era to the WWII. But if you're looking for a great beach time, you may be disappointed with the temperature of the water along the beaches of Normandie. It's a little cool but not unbearable. An ideal beach vacation is to the South, along the Meditaranean, but there are some little coves and bays along the west coast where the water is warmer. This is what I suggest: When you arrive in Normandie, start a conversation with some teenage boys and ask them where the hot spots are. You are likely to discover some little known spots away from the overcrowded tourist traps. Have fun!

I would suggest you go a touch south and head for Brittany, which has an abundance of wonderful beach resorts. My absolute favourite is St Malo. There are miles of wonderful sandy beaches, rock pools, little islands you can walk out to at low tide. If you went this year, I bet you will be going back again every year until your daughter is grown up, it is such a cool place. Hotels in Inter Muros are very reasonable. I urge you to try, St Malo has such a wonderful vibe to it. Historic, beautiful and touristy! The sea is clean, and with the natural pools that form, would be warm enough in July to swim. Carnac with its amazing standing stones has great beaches and Perros Guirec is another breath taikng place. Mont St Michel, which is in Normandy, is also a place that needs to be seen. Do have a wonderful holiday. Where ever you decide, I am sure you will return!
