    I live in south west France. It depends what you are looking for. Here we had temperatures up to about 40C(100F) this month, August will be about the same. July and August are the busiest time for tourists so accommodation becomes more expensive, but more tourist attractions are open. If you want to see the grapes growing then come in September.

I went 2nd week of June for 2 weeks. It was horrible the weather was awful. We can use the swimming pool because its dead freezing. I think July, August and September this are perfect time to visit France but its peak season so expect for more tourist. And more expenses. Von voyage!
