A lot of France is just breathtaking. They have their ghettos just like any other countries but in all it truly is a lovely country. Paris is just amazing in the north and the weather and beaches in the south are great. The city of Bordeaux is one of my faves.

I think France would be a lovely place to live. And it's varied, too. And you being British wouldn't have too much of a problem moving there - but don't move unless you have a useful qualification as well as good French.
