It will probably be a little cool....upper 50's low 60's with possible into 70 degrees if you get lucky.. I visited once in early April and there were a couple days that is was warm enough to swim. Check online for weather forecast before you go. Positives about the area...well the people are generally very nice and there are lots of great shops, open air markets and good restaurants. There is a great beach - but remember to wear shoes because the beaches are rocky not sandy in most places. Also, a quick train ride away is Monte Carlo, and Northern Italy, which is good for a day trip. Don't really have any negatives other than I would not know of any cultural things like museums or art galleries, and you might find it difficult with a 3 yr old to keep the kid entertained.
