  • Answer:

nice is very big and beautiful but if i were you i would choose to live on the outskirts which is even more beautiful and not as busy, english is wildly spoken, i dont think Nice gets any bad weather extreme except beautiful weather!

In my case, there are too many in-laws for my liking, but it means that I've got to know the place a quite bit over the years. Quite a large English community. There's even an English language radio station and assorted services for English speaking people, schools etc, (even psychiatrists). Climate is good. Dry (they did have some snow earlier this year and weren't quite sure what it was). We have our meals in the garden. Of course there is a town centre (downtown) with lots of big buildings. That is the way French cities are structured. Plenty of museums too and art galleries too. The beach is pebbles. At least you won't get sand in your sandwiches, but it's not very comfortable. There are sand beaches within a few minutes driving distance. You can go and sit on the beach in the evening after work, for example. Keep away from Nice in August - too many tourists. In fact, the town is completely overwhlmed by tourists in the summer. The mountains are nearby. In the winter, you can go to a ski resort just for the day (couple of hours driving each way). Life is very expensive there. I live in Paris, and always find Nice much more expensive. Rents are similar to Paris, but wages are lower. Food is more expensive. Crime and drugs - a very far cry from anything in the US. There is a Serbian population, but I don't know it particularly. There is a Russian Orthodox church in the centre of town. Many Serbians and Greeks also attend its services. On the whole the population is quite old. Being a pleasant city with a good climate, many French people go there to retire. It is counterbalanced by a young population of students, but they don't stay very long.

French doesn't have much natural disasters. And coming from Canada shouldn't you be able to speak English and French? Anyway, Nice, France seems like a nice place to live
