How to cook a Roast pig?

Does anyone know how to throw an amazing pig roast? What types of food, other than the pig, would you serve?

    We have an annual pig roast at out mobile home park. First off everyone brings their own plate,utensils,drinks and chair..........makes for easier cleanup. We have the roast pig of course Corn on the cob (use a big pot of boiling water to which you've added butter for dipping the cobs) Potato salad Coleslaw Crusty rolls (which we slice and butter ahead of time) Watermellon and other fresh fruit for dessert. Keep it simple so you can enjoy the party. All these things except for the pig you can prepare ahead of time.Just keep properly chilled. Have a great time.

My mom does a pig roast every year at her local VFW. This is her list of items. Deviled Eggs Pickled Eggs Potato Salad Cole Slaw Pineapple Rings or Upside down cake Baked Beans Green Beans with pork fat BBQ sauce Buns and rolls(some people like to have it as a sandwhich) Corn on the cob Have fun! OH and dont forget the beer!

A good starch based entree like rice dishes, or a good bread. Pork is an oily dish so you need a dish that will compliment that type of meat. Potatoes, scalloped, of course vegetables. And meloned fruit go well with pork, also apples, pineapples, perhaps a candied fruit compote.

i like grilled corn. some people grill it in the husk right on the grill. just pull a few layers off and cook over a low to medium heat for around ten to twenty minutes turning once in awhile. another way that i also like is to get the frozen ears rub down with stick butter then season with a cajun seasoning spice or cavanders greek seasoning, then rap in tinfoil like a bake potato and put right on the grill for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Just keep it simple. Potatoes stuffed into the carcas and allowed to bake during the roasting, along with some onions, and a keg of ice cold beer on the side.
