What would you recommend to do in La Rochelle, France?

    While I'm not really in a position to shed much light on that (spent a week or two near that city 21 years ago, but didn't see all that much of the city proper), I definitely remember the day trip we made to the Île de Ré, which was beautiful. Also, needless to say, if you enjoy fish and seafood, opportunities to savor it will be abundant.
