What should i bring to a thanksgiving dinner? this is my first time celebrating it.?

    Since the holiday is about being thankful, why not bring a dessert from your homeland? That way you can share part of your culture, and I am sure the family will be very appreciative. If you do not do a food item, a beautiful bouquet of fall type flowers/color wise would be nice for the table as well.

How about one of your favorite dishes from home? There will be plenty of traditional American thanksgiving dishes and its all about comfort food, so share something from your country that you love.

Try some good homemade cookies. A dessert is generally a winner. I would make it something small and bite sized, so people will be more tempted to eat it than things they have to cut. As far as what to choose, with desserts it's pretty easy....Maybe try a chocolate, pumpkin or cinnamon kind of cookie. These flavors are popular around the holidays! You could also make small batches of assorted cookies and bring a variety of 2 or 3 kinds. Best of luck with your first Thanksgiving in America! I hope this helps. Whatever you do just be sure to HAVE FUN! Americans are very food oriented people so if you don't bring anything I'm sure nobody will mind, they'll all leave stuffed anyway!

i would bring a themed dessert.pumpkin pie or muffins.they will appreciate it.remember they will have a lot of food,so have a light breakfast. i think on another kind of reunion they will love to try a dish,dessert from your home town but Thanksgiving is a very traditional celebration and they will appreciate more something local. just tell them for the next celebration you´ll bring home made food from southeast asia!!

Since it is your first time celebrating it, do something really simple like rolls. You can bake them from scratch or buy frozen ones or pick some up at the grocery store. Everyone loves rolls at Thanksgiving, and then you don't have to worry about making 'traditional' recipes.
