  • Answer:

Ask your mother to start speaking French to you all, as often as possible. Even if she has to repeat herself in English, it's worth it. You will improve in the language much more quickly. There's an alternative to France: You can get a surprisingly similar experience to France by moving near to the old city section of Quebec City, in Canada. Or you could instead move to Montreal; it has so many English speakers that you could live there much more easily, and you all could gradually learn the French language. Your mother will have to look at the Quebec provincial government's immigration website. Maybe she could get work based on her work skills. Or, if you all have enough assets and can start a family business, you might get residency that way. Gaining entry to Canada will be much easier than France, I believe. Later, assuming you've become fluent in French, it might be easier for you to go to France as a college student than to try getting work there. You should apply to French universities later on during high school. If you are accepted to one, then I assume you would be given a visa allowing you to stay for as long as you stayed enrolled in that school. I don't know whether that visa would include a right to work while in college. After those four years, hopefully you will have gotten enough exposure to the country to satisfy you. And maybe you would develop contacts that could assist you in getting a job there after college. Whether or not you go to college, maybe you could expand your Quebec family business into France, allowing some of your family to migrate over. With lessons and practice, you might become a good singer and actress. But even then, the odds of making a living entirely from entertainment work are very small, in either France or the USA or most other places. I once read that about 5% of Screen Actors Guild members support themselves entirely with acting work; during these economic times, with fewer TV/movie projects being started, it's probably less than 5%. Still, your acting skills might allow you to joke around and entertain people. Maybe that would help you in a career in sales, marketing, or even management.
