Answer:
I just got back from Paris and stayed at that Marriot. I bought my nights through priceline for 100 dollars a night. I would not stay there again. There is a metro station right outside and you can get around in about 20 to 30 minutes(transfers may be necessary) but it is too far from the center of town and the sites you mentioned. There are 1-2 sidewalk cafes about a block away on both sides of the hotel and there is a long sidewalk market several days too. Not too much else around the hotel. There were always long lines at the front desk and to ask the conceirege questions..I did not think it was a very friendly hotel. Not unfriendly either. Its not terrible by any means. And the Metro is right there so you can buy a 3 day ( or more) pass or a pack of 10 tickets and leave the hotel in the AM and return after dinner in the PM. That is very do-able so if you are using hotel rewards you can make it work, I used priceline which I love but I was not happy with the location so I would either get a hotel another way or choose my locations differently in my bid The rooms are okay- typical marriot rooms- no views. I do think i got bed bugs there..But we had two beds and the other person did not have any symptoms. Granted I could have started with that statement but after reading the literature they could be at any hotel. I am still looking into it. The hotel defintely looked clean. THe shower was normal so that was nice There is no double decker bus stop close to the Marriot and honestly they were not that easy to catch. The London dble decker is really worth it but the Paris one seems less convenient. I would only recommend it to those who have difficulty walking. I would recommend a night tour on the bus but it was hard to get info on.and we could never catch it. There are some buses thaht are 54 euros but one of the dble deckers was just 29 and lasted 1 1/2. I highly recommend visiting the Orsay museum, theSacre-Coeur area, and Notre Dame. A boat tour down the Seine would replace the dble decker. Have fun.
