  • (1)weather from 14 December until Christmas in Nice of France? (2) weather from late December and the whole January in Paris? (3) what clothes should i prepare to pack? I am ...show more

  • Answer:

During December in Nice the average daily high temperature is 12 degrees celsius/53 degrees farenheit, with the average daily low being 9 degrees celsius/49 degrees farenheit. During January in Paris the average daily high temperature is 7 degrees celsius/44 degrees farenheit, and the average low is 2 celsius, 36 farenheit. On average there will be four days in January in which it snows. Most hotels and public spaces will have perfectly adequate heating systems. In Paris the best public transport is the Metro (the subway) which, being underground for the most part, is perfectly warm. As you can see from the temperature averages, while it is cold it is really rather mild compared to many northern cities in the United States such as Chicago or New York. EDIT: I see from some other questions that have asked that you are Chinese (I am half Chinese). so perhaps I should have said that Paris in winter is warmer than Beijing and much warmer than Harbin.

Other answers

1) Nice is quite likely to be cold - similar to England I would have thought. 2) Paris will be FREEZING! I have been twice in January and let's just say it was 'brass monkeys'! 3) Wrap up warm, wear layers. Long sleeved tops, trousers etc. Scarf...! 4) It depends on where you are staying as to whether there is heating or not! 5) As I said previously, wear layers. This way you can take them off when you go indoors. 6) Even if you feel cold, remove your coat as if not you will not appreciate its warmth when you go back outdoors. Wear layers, such as a vest, tshirt, long sleeved top, thin jumper, fleece etc. 7) You probably will get cold standing around waiting for transport. Take some handwarmers - I thnk you can buy them in Boots - they are little things you put in your pockets they are reusable so are a great investment. Wear a hat as you lose most of your body heat through your head. HAVE FUN! :)
