What are the "Posh" areas in Paris?

Excluding Paris, what are the top three attractions/areas of France to visit?

  • My wife and I are planning a visit to France this April. We are planning to spend 5 days in Paris.

    Wise Owl spoke mostly about Normandy, I'll do the South part :) South west: Carcassonne, Albi, Béziers, these towns and the area are known for the Cathar's castles. And Carcassonne is just an amazing town, with its ramparts, bridges... If you want to have an idea: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fc/Carcasssonne_vieux_pont.jpg And also, the south west cuisine is very good :) South east: if you want to be in sort of "big" cities, Lyon and specially what we call "le vieux lyon" (the old part of the town) is something to see. Otherwise, there are other really pretty towns: Avignon, Nice, Cannes (those two are on the Mediterranean coast) We also got beautiful mountains, Le Vercors ( http://images.location-ski-moins-cher.com/ski-resorts/correncon-en-vercors/correncon-en-vercors-01.jpg ), Les Alpes, Les Pyrénées (we're back in South West then :)) In april, you can have a really nice weather if you go to South of France. :) Oh... I just realize that it sounds as if I was being paid to sell the Southern France --' Well, that's not the case, it's just that I love it. :) Have a nice time in France. Bon voyage et bon séjour :)

With France,s wonderful rail system your lucky you can get to most areas quite quickly.Nofmandy and Brittany to the north and west of Paris are amust to visit Asterixt and all that.Sea food restaurants and dairy product foods,"ooh la la"Go south young man.Provence is a must,From Roman architecture to the wonderous Carmargue,the grubs great as well.Try to fit in Avignon,Orange and taste the Rhone wines,after a couple of weeks of France the States might not be revisited !! Bon Vacance. Ps im a scouser not a frog !!
