after the "Grand Louvre" project in the 1980s-1990s, the Louvre museum occupied the most part of the palace (there uesd to be the finance ministery in the north wing). actually the west part of the north wing is still occupied by the "Ecole du Louvre", an archaeology and History of art school. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89cole_du_Louvre
