How much is the Louvre museum's ticket?

Planning a trip to Paris, I plan on going to the Louvre but should I bother with other art museums?

  • I am not really an art person, I don't enjoy art museums that much. I went to one recently and stayed for almost two hours before I left. Also what are some can't miss places ...show more

Capital of fashion, city of lights, romantic city and of course the capital of France are some of the other names given to this lovely city. What better a place than Paris for a vacation? Ernest Hemingway, an American author, once said - "If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast." Such is the love and attachment that people have to Paris. I found an interesting trip plan to Paris . Other really good art museums are the orangerie and the orsay. They have some collections of monet, van gough etc. If you don't really like art then you might not want to go, but they are fairly well known so it might be worth checking out. If you want to check out some museums but don't like the art ones, try some of the more eccentric ones like the museum of science and the museum of cinema.

Whether or not you go to art galleries in Paris is your choice, no-one is going to make you, and on holiday you should do what you want. There are plenty of other things to see in Paris, so just do a quick tour of the important parts of the Louvre, then go on to other places. Get a guide to Paris and work out an itinerary based on things you'd really like to see. Paris is a very easy city to get around, very walkable with the main sights quite close, and there's the Metro or buses when you don't feel like walking.

The crowd around the Mona Lisa (Louvre) just takes you like a wave and it's really not enjoyable. Most of the rest of the museum is dead and you can take your time. Maybe you'd like to see the Dali Museum in Montmarte. I went to see the spots featured in the movie Amelie..the market and the Deux Moulins restaurant on Rue Lepic..and the Sacre Coeur off the Anvers metro. Go to the top of the Montparnesse tower at night and see the Eiffel glitter at night. The Gallaries Lafayette has a pretty glass dome and a free observation deck..Notre Dame church (free) and walk under the bridges along the river.
