What type of food can I expect to eat in Paris?

I gather that by saying "offered" you mean going to a person's home or being invited to a restaurant. In two days, you will probably not have to meet any local Parisians. Therefor your best bet , would be to look for honest reviews in site like Trip Advisor or maybe even Yelp. You can find just about everything. It might interest you to know that there are now over 800 McDonalds in France. There you can get a "meal" for little more than 10 dollars or you can also try one of the 26 3 star French restaurants, where a great dinner will run $300 and more.

You can find pretty much what you eat now. When we were in Paris, we had mostly crepes in the morning, both sweet and savory. Savory crepes is like ham and cheese. Sweet is like Nutella and banana. There are more exotic foods, at least to Americans, like steak tartar, which is like raw beef. There are croissants and sandwiches. You have to try the pastries.

Food in France is of high quality, you won't have any problems finding what you want. Plus Paris has cooking styles from all over the world - you'll be spoilt for choice.

You can find anything. There is cuisine form all over the world. You will find that to be the case in most major cities in industrialized nations. You really find only local cuisine in less advanced nations. That said, if you ever see something called "fillet American", don't think it's something American. It's raw hamburger mixed with egg and served on toast. I found that one out the hard way.
