How to get from cdg to Paris city centre?

Is paris airport near the city centre?

  • im going paris by myself........should I take Eurostar or fly............also when I get there am I close to city centre ......anyone got any advice . I am going there alone and want ...show more

  • Answer:

There are three different aiports used for travel to Paris - Beauvais - About 90 kms from the centre of the city of Paris - Orly airport - 20 kms - and the newer Charles de Gaulle - about 25 kms. Eurostar goes right into Paris - Not exactly in the centre - but not far with the metro system. Hotels it all depends on your likes and dislikes. The price very often depends on the number of floors in the hotel building. There are less expensive hotels with no lifts and with rooms on the upper - maybe fourth floor. Check the very many websites and you will find them all and also look at the many hostels for very economical stays.

Boxter, Paris is NOT a very small town, it is quite a large CITY.

Both airports are on the edge of the city. You might as well pick your flight based upon price. A good place to look for rooms is in the Latin Quarter. And be sure to check if the room has a private full bath otherwise you will find yourself sharing one with the entire floor.

There are three airports in Paris. Remember that trafic in Paris area is AWFUL Beauvais : used for low cost flights is the farest (about 80 km), you can take a bus to bring you back in Paris but it can take hours on rush hours... Really NOT a good plan if you plan to stay a short time. Orly and Roissy Charles de Gaulle are on the south and north of Paris, they are closer and have the advantage to be linked by subway / rail to Paris, which make transfers far quickers on rush hours for a cheap fare. Eurostar is by far the quickest and easiest way to reach the city centre, because the train station is downtown. About your hotel and the sights, remember that Paris is a very small town and have probably the best subway system in the world, with a very high number of lines and stations... So where ever you are, you are always close to a subway station which will bring you fast to the most touristic places... So the place of your hotel isn't really important... better focus on your budget because Paris is an expensive city (as London)

you can check out hotel Amelie in tour eiffel-invaledes as its centrally located and cheap.few more centrally located, cheap with good reviews hotels are Prince albert louvre hotel, grand hotel de l'avenue, Nemours hotel (not so central but not too far and 1 min walk to metro and cheapest option), Hotel Eiffel Petit Louvre (cheap and central). these are all 2 star budget with private bath and free wifi, but if you remove your filter of central location then you will have more cheap options to stay as its pretty easy to do sightseeing in paris through metro train or you can take a hop on hop off bus ticket which is valid for 2 days. we arrange all sorts of sightseeing tours and hotel bookings at best rates.
