Place for shopping in central Paris?

I'm going to Paris soon and whilst I'm there I would like to do some shopping and I was just wondering where the best places were in central Paris? Possibly the Parisian ...show more

Well the equivalent of Oxford Street is Boulevard Hausmann with the two largest departmental stores, Printemps and Galeries Lafayette, and many more. M&S used to have a store as well.

L'Opera Stop (on the Metro) is great shopping area. Also alot of the side streets have funky shops with cool stuff.

We just came back from Paris and the sales are on in the department stores. Lafayette is the department store I did some shopping but st Honore is my very favourite street for all the big names. Avenue des Champs Elysees was fun also try to visit Le Fouquet for the most amazing mille faille in Paris. Have fun remember it is very expensive and the pick pockets thrive on the tourists.

BHV is very nice... It's a massive 6-floor department store just behind the Hotel de Ville. It's particularly nice because it's not really situated in a big shopping district. Paris doesn't get more central than the Hotel de Ville.
