Don't try to take care of it. You'll kill it. It knows what it needs and you don't, so let it go.

That lizard is a wild animal that knows how to take care of itself. What makes you think he'd be healthier and happier with you when you don't even know what he needs and he does? Put the lizard back.

You need to let it go. Some wild caught animals won't eat in captivity. Its just cruel to keep a wild animal. Please let it go.

Typically they just eat insects but you can also go to your local pet store and buy some food there

What kind of lizard?

I would just put different kinds of insects in it's cage and see which ones it likes best. They need basically the same things a store bought lizard would need depending on the kind of lizard it is.

just try to find the smallest crickets for it at the pet shop or maybe even a small worm or insect
