Cornsnakes are said to be the most timid of all snakes. Its been said you can pick one up in the wild and it wont bite (dont recommend trying this). They come in many colors from Blizzard (white) to black markings. about 5 feet depending on what its feed and usually a 20 gallon tank will last its life time. Im going to leave you a link from the repituable breeder we buy from so you can see what the animals look like. My husband has 4 corns, 2 milks, 1 boa, 1 ball python and although im not a snake fan, I dont mind the corns..the rest im not comfortable with. Corns run from 25-125 in our area. They are not sold in petshops so we must find breeders.

ball or childrens python or corn snake

I would reccomend a corn snake or a ball python, corns are a little faster and less docile but still make great starting pets. Also if you are on a lower budget it will be better to get a corn as they will be in pet stores more often and for a reasonable price. Now for Ball pythons they are slower moving and a little more docile but require more money and care as they need humidity requirements and also will be harder to find and you might need to get it from a snake breeder for around 100$.

I agree with others that the ball python would probably be your best bet, but one person gave you the wrong info: "The only downfall to a ball python is that you need UV light, heaters, and humidity for them, as they are a tropical snake." Ball Pythons do NOT need UV light, but do need heat and humidity - they are AFRICAN snakes, not tropical and are accustomed to living in termite mounds. UV light is not a requirement for a healthy Ball Python. Other than that, they do tolerate being handled well and are easy to care for. For good care sheets, I know of a couple of good locations - AlanBoschReptiles.com and Ballpython.com are both good resources for care sheets.

corn snake it has a heart on its head lol

well i own a ball python, red tail boa, and a reticulated python and i believe taht a ball python is among the easiest and most passive of pet snakes. He lets me pet him and pick him up all the time and never strikes at me. Ball pythons are easy to take care of they just need a water dish (sometimes they like to swim) a brick or something else rough to help with shedding, and possibly a stick or hut to sleep on. They eay mice too. They also dont get too huge as far as pet snakes go...
