Most hotels have limited parking, so I wouldn't look there to rent a car. The rental companies in Europe are essentially the same as in the U.S. (Hertz, Alamo, Budget, Avis, etc.). Call them up and find one that has a rental location within walking distance of your hotel, or in the neighborhood you want to stay in. Things are so compact in Paris that I'm sure it won't be a very far walk (less than 5 min).
