    Im brazilian and from Rio... I will give u some tips ... 1) to have a blast you would need around 2000 dollars ( Assuming this trip will be the TIME of your lives. but 1000 dollars would be just fine. ) 2) Look for cheap hostels in LAPA, SANTA TEREZA, GLORIA. These are cheap and relatively safe neighborhoods. 3) NEVER carry a lot of money on you ! NEVER. 4) When you go out try to be friends with some local guy... Believe me it makes the drinks cheaper... hahaha If you do not speak portuguese, people take advantage of you. 5) Looking for Girls? Copacabana Beach or VILA MIMOSA ( Any Cab driver knows these places.BUT if you are really looking for ELITE girls.... Look up CENTAUROS HUMAITA and 4 X 4 CENTRO. 6) Looking for dopeeee dopeee.... Best place ... LAPA go and ask about the Tile stairs... ESCADA DE AZULEIJO.....Everybody knows it... 7) Best Night Clubs? BARRA DA TIJUCA or LAGOA or IPANEMA.. those are good neighborhoods with great clubs... one of my favs is the night club NAMASTE.... go check it out brow u will def. love it. 8) Dont ever show off any electronic stuff like cameras or laptops... believe me.... ANDDDDD.. HAVE FUN DUDEEEEE.. Dont forget to go visit the Christ Statue in COSME VELHO .... Take care...

from San Francisco - rockbottom prize will be US$650. Also depends on your hotel preference - you can get comfortable but not luxury hotel for about $90 US /night including breakfast.It is best to directly negotiate with the hotel by e-mail to get a good deal.If you use portugese- it is helpful. Once in Brasil- everything is cheap- food, entertainment,cabs, bars, discos etc. Just stay safe- do not get drunk, stupid, use common sense.Have in mind that crime is serious problem there- so read my other post on safety, ok???!!!
