Is there HDMI audio and video in one cable?

HDMI vs Audio/Video cable. Does one over ride the other?

    You don't mention make or model of your HD TV, but most... have separate input selects for DVI/HDMI. When the TV remote is set for "AV" the yellow red & white wires will act as the input. When you switch to "DVI/HDMI" on the remote, then (and only then) will you see any HD inputs.

Neither. You have to manually select the source on your HDTV. Usually there's a button on the remote called "Input" that will cycle between the various inputs, as well as a button on the HDTV.

Your TV set should have an on-screen menu that allows you to select the input you want to use. You should be ablle to have devices plugged into several inputs and select the one you want using your remote.

HDMI cable might override it, but i would be safe and unplug the av cables. ok all the HDMI cable does is make the CONNECTION digital and will clean up the signal... so if everything was already in hd thats what it will be.. just cleanerr.
