If you have a stan alone receiver then you would connect every thing to the receiver using HDMI cable. Then you connect an HDMI cable from the receiver output to the tv HDMI input. If you have one of those home theater in a box, most of them does not provide any input at all. Hope this will help you out.

You connect one HDMI cable from each device to the HDMI input on the receiver. You connect the one out from the receiver to the TV.
