How do I use wire connectors?

What type of adapter would you use to connect an antenna to the red yellow and white wire connectors.?

  • i am looking to hook a dvd player to a tv that does not have the connections needed....is there an adapter or convertor and how much does it usually run.

  • Answer:

You can try the VCR method previously suggested, but copyrighted DVD's often have macrovision protection and while you might not be copying the DVD to tape and just watching it through your VCR, the colour and brightness/contrast distortion may still be present. The best way is to buy an RF modulator. It's a device that runs $20-$30 that converts an A/V signal to RF on channels 3 and 4 and it IS compatible with macrovision. So, if your old VCR doesn't do the trick, do it right and get an RF modulator. They're available everywhere like Radio Shack, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.

I purchased a converted for about $30 to connect a game console (Playstation 2) to my TV. Playstation has the red, yellow, white AV connecitons, but TV has no AV connections, just a cable hook up. You can get these all over the place, but obvious place is at a store that sells game consoles (like Gamestop or EB Games). I think they used to be called RF converters when used to hook up to the antena input.

I believe the adapter would be called a Coaxial to RCA adapter. Check the link below.

You need the RF modulator Geoff speaks of above. They are available almost everwhere electronics are sold.
