If you accidentally scratched a CD...?

    A few small scratches won't hurt the CD, but if it starts to skip then rub tooth paste on it, let it dry, and with a damp cloth clean it. There might be some special tooth paste to use that I'm forgetting, so Google it before you try anything.

Well, it depends on how bad the scratch is. One day I was playing my Xbox, when my friend told me to move it so we could fit the Ps3 near it, I turn it to it's side, and BAM, there goes my Rock Band CD. :[ Lol. It really just depends on how bad it is, I've had a lot of scratches on CD's that have never affected its working ability. :P

If it doesn't play without skipping, it will need repair. Many CD shops perform repairs. It's tricky to do it your self, but you would use toothpaste, and only rub in a straight line from the centre to the outside of the disc. This is so that any scratches you make are perpendicular to the rows of information on the disc. Chrome polish might work better in theory, or it may be too abrasive, and damage the disc beyond repair. Some day, I'll try it with a disc that i don't mind losing.

Try it out 1st, then if it doesnt work, go down to PlaynTrade (a video game store), and they will clean it 4 2 dollars. Even though its a video game store, im pretty sure they'll clean CD's 2.
