    Right the speaker don't clip, the amp clips and this puts a DC component into the coil of the speaker which fries it. What a lot of folks don't realize is you can fry a speaker with an underpowered amp that clips quicker than you can with a more powerful amp. Voice coils don't like DC current.

if you had it as loud as it will go that causes clipping the signal is breaking up cause you are pushing it to hard so the speaker clips and Fry's

get a proper home theatre setup for gaming, and different bookshelves for music, the point is u'll enjoy ur gaming on the home theatre speakers, even at full blast they wont ring or crackle, and for music u can use the bookshelves for tight bass , u like the brass on them
