How to connect 321 bose speakers?

Can I connect Bose Speakers with Onkyo Receiver?

  • Hey All, I have an Onkyo HT-SR600 system and am thinking of replacing the Onkyo speakers with the Bose Cubes. Do you think my receiver will be able to power the Bose? Will it be ...show more

  • Answer:

You're joking, right? You're actually going to spend 2k on teeny-tiny 2.5" speakers with 5.5" midrange unit and a DVD player. Your breath can power the Bozo speakers without a problem... P.D. To the jackass below - who gave you the authority to dictate that all should not talk about other brands? It's righteously justifiable to make someone aware that they could get a seriously better system from Aperion, Ascend, B&W, ERA, Infinity, JBL, KEF, PSB, SVS, Usher, and a ton of others. All the electronic gadgetry like a hard drive and Bozo link combined with tiny cubes won't do ANYTHING for quality. You need proper speakers and the OP should be aware that there is a better solution for the enjoyment of true quality sound than Bozo.

First of all, why is Bose you goal? Their systems suck. Their speakers are OK, but cost twice what they're worth. But you should be aware that because Bose ignores industry standards and has proprietary attachments for many of their speakers. There is no purpose for this except to force the consumer to buy only Bose products. Do yourself a favor and buy a different speaker setup. Polk usually has some good deals, but there are a bunch of good speaker companies that will give you much better sound for your money than Bose. Because Bose Blose. @Israel L: The poster is asking for advice on making speaker purchases. If no such purchase has taken place it's perfectly acceptable to offer some words of wisdom. Bose products are a poor value.

Hey there, Which Bose Cubes do you want to replace your Onkyo speakers with? I am asuming you are looking into the Acoustimass series of Bose Speakers. If you currently have 5 speakers and one subwoofer, you should replace them with a 5.1 solution from Bose, and they should work without any problems with your receiver. However, since you ask about a complete Bose system down to the receiver, I will let you know that a complete Bose system has better sound and more features than your Onkyo receiver has and would produce with Bose Acoustimass Speakers. The price is much higher, but the sound will be better. Bose receivers for Lifestyle systems (and for the 321GSX) come with a hard drive to store your favorite CDs. They also come with Bose Link technology which allows you to play music stored on the system using other Bose products all around your house, in up to 14 rooms. In the end it is a matter of how much you can and are willing to spend. Don't forget also about Bose's line of home theater speakers. Bose 201 and 301 speakers are excellent for the left and right channel. Bose 161 are great for rear left and right channels, Finally the Bose VCS-10 center speaker would complete your Bose sound, and you can keep your current Onkyo subwoofer. The Bose lifestyle system will still sound better than using the combination of speakers I have mentioned, since it auto-calibrates the sound according to your room acoustics, but the price you will end up paying for the Lifestyle (around $2000) is too much when you add the price of the Bose 201, Bose 161 and VCS-10: Less than $450 with the current discounts (which end in a couple of days). If you need to know anything else, let me know. P.D. To the other people answering questions: stick to the question being asked, do not offer your opinion and steer away from what the asker wants to know. If he is asking about Bose, do not talk about other brands.

I don t know that particular onkyo system but check the speakers before you buy anything many of the theater in a box systems do not use 8 ohm speakers you have to be carefull when updating that type of system many use 3 or 6 ohm speakers.
