What can I do with an old speaker?

I have an old home theater single speaker with no receiver, how can i get my iPod to play on this speaker?

  • This speaker takes 2 small little wires in the back. Any type of converter to aux?

  • Answer:

All speakers require a power amplifier to drive them. The speaker you have is part of a unit and it is not very good. You can not connect your ipod to the speaker, it has no power to drive the speaker. Hope this will help you out.

Toss it into the trash where it belongs. There is no way to power that crapbox without the receiver/player that it was originally a part of.

You are willing to go through all that trouble just to use ONE random theater speaker? Come on, just get pc speakers and continue on. Getting an amp, cables, wires, and all that other clutter for ONE unknown theater in a box speaker is a bit ridiculous don't ya think?

This cannot be done this means garbage mate. IN reality you have a few options you can use to play your iPod on is a receiver with iPod dock, or a male to male headphone plug also into a receiver, or a set of computer speakers, or a speaker unit or portable stereo designed for iPods.
