Will i get sound and picture with hdmi cable?

i know my laptop does have a hdmi port but i need to know is that if i connect the hdmi cable to laptop to tv will i get sound and picture..? and which hdmi cable will i need.. i m ...show more

Yes, it will send both audio and video signals. You need to see what kind of HDMI input your TV uses. If it's a standard HDMI input, then all you need is an HDMI cable with an HDMI plug at both ends. If it's long and skinny and has screws at each end, then it's DVI. You'll need an HDMI to DVI cable. If it's long and fat and has screws at each end, then it's VGA. You will need an HDMI to VGA cable. You can look up DVI and VGA on Google Images to see what they look like.

Yes you will get sound and picture from an HDMI cable going laptop to TV. No you don't have to get an expensive cable because they do all work but keep in mind that better built cables will deliver the audio and video signal totally intact especially over longer runs.
