    Most newer cable boxes have USB ports, but they aren't for your use. Typically they are used by technicians for working on the boxes, but some are designed to future-proof the boxes. Future proofing just means that it doesn't do anything now, but they put it in there in case they need to add some functionality in the future - then all they have to do is upgrade the firmware on the box and you could attach something in the future - like internet via USB conversion, adding an external hard drive, or even connecting it to your computer. The USB port is not there "in case you run out of other ports for your TV" as someone else said.

the usb is for ports u plug in extras cuz... lik internet or a long cable to connct to your tv you can use it to connect lik the wii through it if u run out of ports on the back of ur tv
